It's a HOT summer day in DC. My parents never cease to amaze me with their landscaping and gardening skills. (My father built this deck by hand, by himself!) My mother keeps her tropical plants in the sun - and during midday, when the light is the harshest, they cast shadows onto the deck that move every so often, either with the wind or the movement of the sun.
Nothing is Ordinary
Colorful Sunsets
There is just something about the summer sky that creates beautiful colored sunsets. Pictured are some captures from irresistible sky moments!
Vintage Office Vibes
When visiting my parents home, there is always a new addition or a different feature from the last time I visited. In this particular case, this retro yellow lamp, now paired in-front of an original painting by my father really fascinated me. When I switched the lamp on, the yellow bulb and the yellow shade, against the yellow artwork, created this luminous, golden glow, lighting up the entire room.
Midnight on Jeweler's Row
It's been on my mind for a while to come here after dusk to get a few shots, because #neon. Jeweler's Row is home to the oldest diamond district in America. So there is actually deep history rooted in this little area. During the day, it is easy to pass by, overlooking it - however, at night...it comes to life!
Lucky Bamboo
Unfortunately, I did not inherit a green thumb. So this lucky bamboo is one of the only houseplants that I can manage. They are incredibly low maintenance - they take low water and can survive under minimal sunlight. I keep them by one of our translucent window shades, so that they can create an interesting silhouette.
Autumn Colors
A post dedicated to the colors of the season. Not letting the chilly weather stop me - As summer came to an end, I made a promise to myself that I would enjoy the upcoming season. It seems that Autumn always comes and goes the quickest; or perhaps I just take it for granted. Before we know it, we'll be in the thick of the cold, colorless winter - so it's important to enjoy what we have at this very moment!
Succulent Nook
Gorgeous little nook at the National Gallery of art in Washington, DC. Can't wait to return on a weekend for the Vermeer Inspired Garden Brunch!
Central Park
Below, photos from a rendezvous through Central Park.
Night Florals
Different floral species are photographed just as dusk settles over the sky. Their vibrant colors are even more animated and electrifying as they are illuminated against the night backdrop.
