No Spectators - The Art of Burning Man

Some very stunning show stoppers of the Renwick Gallery's Burning Man exhibit are pictured below, however as usual, photographs just don't do the experience justice. This exhibit will be on view throughout the year, so it's definitely worth to visit in person and more than once!

On a majorly busy opening weekend - experience was transformed and heightened by the crowd. Although the art is so loud by nature...the exhibit definitely assumed the energy of David Best's Temple installation and was quiet, peaceful, calming and introspective throughout.

No Spectators’ is a long-standing saying on Playa. You are encouraged to fully participate. It’s all about being there, being fully present, and not just observing. Two of the ten principles of Burning Man are radical participation and radical inclusivity, meaning that there are no outsiders. Everyone is part of the experience.

Cherry Blossom Pub

Shots from a quick visit to this extremely coveted, highly anticipated and popularly photographed spring attraction. The popularity is largely due to the photogenic setting and spring themed ambiance. The Cherry Blossom Pub is a pop up bar, presented by Drink Company, featuring Asian inspired cocktails and snacks.

R+R at Drybar

Desperately needed to alleviate some of the snow day cabin fever that has been building up all week. This salon is so light and airy, with tasteful pops of yellow everywhere; even with snow on the ground outside, its impossible not to feel optimistic for sunnier days.

A little pampering goes a long way! Definitely a nice + relaxing treat

The Armory Show

To sum it all up, The Armory Show was a beautiful collision of artists, collectors, enthusiasts and champagne by Pommery. I was quite pleased to feel the ambiance as an all-inclusive and diverse environment. I met people, who like myself, traveled to New York exclusively for the Armory Show...in the name of art!

The familiar feeling of electricity is why I love attending these kinds of shows and events. Galleries from all over set up booths to showcase pieces by artists they represent. The Armory Show gave me intense nostalgia of Paris Photo LA. I was happy to see many sculpture pieces, installations and NEON art.

Chandelier Heaven

Waltzed right on by this lighting store and couldn't help but venture in. This long, narrow shop is full of precariously hung chandeliers and other intricate light fixtures dangling at varying lengths from the ceiling. Mirrored light and reflections galore!

PHS Flower Show

Ah, yes. How do you know that springtime is right around the corner? Because the Philadelphia Flower Show is on blossom at the convention center! This years theme was "Wonders of Water", celebrating and exploring the beauty and life-sustaining interplay of horticulture and water. Some of my favorite parts of the show included the juried competitions - especially the one where competitors created a flower display inspired by a painting (see below!) I also enjoyed the live flower competitions too!

The Baccarat Hotel

This decadent hotel lobby is made entirely of Baccarat crystal combined with some of the most luxe elements you can imagine! Oh, and theres no shortage of chandeliers - with many different styles and the many mirrors placed throughout, this space is truly special. Not to mention it smelled so amazing too! And check out the wood treatment a la Yakisugi method - a Japanese treatment in which wood is burned and cooled immediately causing a preservant and protective effect.

In The City

I live in a more "suburban, urban" area and I forget how much of a city girl I am at heart. Yesterday's quick run downtown has inspired me to get out and explore on a whim a bit more. After riding around for just a short period of time, I scouted so many locations that would be great for photo ops! Can't wait to get out and draft a SS17/18 location scout list!

Hump Day Relief

What better way to blow off some mid-week steam than at this homey little lounge for a few craft cocktails? I love the exposed brick and lighting combo as it creates such a warm and glowing atmosphere - (I grew up in a home with exposed and glazed brick walls, so much nostalgia!)

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It's that time of year when things are just prettier, more festive and full of charm. Snow, poinsettias and glowy fairy lights! Hope everyone has a very Happy Holiday season!

Vintage Office Vibes

When visiting my parents home, there is always a new addition or a different feature from the last time I visited. In this particular case, this retro yellow lamp, now paired in-front of an original painting by my father really fascinated me. When I switched the lamp on, the yellow bulb and the yellow shade, against the yellow artwork, created this luminous, golden glow, lighting up the entire room.
