Waltzed right on by this lighting store and couldn't help but venture in. This long, narrow shop is full of precariously hung chandeliers and other intricate light fixtures dangling at varying lengths from the ceiling. Mirrored light and reflections galore!

Vase of Roses
Honestly, these mini roses died because I forgot to give them more water - so they dried in their natural shape. I cut the stems and kept them in the vase and voila! Desk decor!
Wanted House Guests
Every so often, when I am working on the Immortal Floral series, my home transforms into a tropical dream filled with excessive amounts of colorful flowers and exotic botanics. Over the summer, when these Gladioluses were in bloom, I wanted to get as many color varitions as possible. Pictured below, their massive stem spans, totally engulfing my living room. Their colorful petals really pop against the grey and neutral background and accents.
Shadows
It's a HOT summer day in DC. My parents never cease to amaze me with their landscaping and gardening skills. (My father built this deck by hand, by himself!) My mother keeps her tropical plants in the sun - and during midday, when the light is the harshest, they cast shadows onto the deck that move every so often, either with the wind or the movement of the sun.
Vintage Office Vibes
When visiting my parents home, there is always a new addition or a different feature from the last time I visited. In this particular case, this retro yellow lamp, now paired in-front of an original painting by my father really fascinated me. When I switched the lamp on, the yellow bulb and the yellow shade, against the yellow artwork, created this luminous, golden glow, lighting up the entire room.
